Throughout the show, the characters refer to things with hard to understand/remember pharses. Here, is the list of terms they have used with an explianation as' to what they mean by it.

cocytus
It allows the contractor's (of the Flame Haze) personnality to reside in it, while the controcter remains within a Flame Haze

flame haze
One who finds and hunts the Guze no Tomogara; because even if you place a Torch, it is only a temporary measure, for the fact still remained that the world's crisis, due to the indiscriminate hunting of existences, does not change. Flame Hazes also exist so that , it will be possible that one day it will lead to the destruction of both the present world and Guze.

fuzetsu
It is to create a dimension within the circle of summoning. This is a place that gets temporally dislocated from the flow of the world and time freezes for the humans that are trapped within it; therefore, no human knows what has happened in there.

guze
A world located next to here, but one that can't be walked to and all the Tomogara's originate from this place.

guze no tomogara
They do not eat humans, but rather eat their existense. So those who are eaten will be treated as through they had never existed.

houga
When a Torch burns out, its contents are transported to a new torch. To simply put it, it's a treasure chest that moves on its own and could be seen in phycial forms.

mistes
A Mistes is a torch that carries a Houga and other powers that were created by the Guze no Tomogara.

rinne
A slave of some sorts to the Guze no Tomogara. The Rinne only collect, for it is the Tomogara that eats. But this wasn't the first time the Rinne or the Guze no Tomogara have appeared in our world; for it has happened elsewhere naturally too.

torches
They are all the people that are seen with a glowing, blue flame within them. They are the replacements for the humans that have had their power of existence devoured by the Guze no Tomogara.

This is done so that it could be a shock absorber, or else the balance of the world will become distorted and bad things will happen; but it is only temporary.

A torch will gradually decrease its existence and by the time it disappears the effect will be minimized. But, when it does, no one will remember that person has ever existed.
